Construction Lawyer Aurora, CO
Construction law covers a wide range of financial and operational issues, many of which are specific to the industry and aren’t found in other commercial legal matters, such as contractor and subcontractor relationships, land use and development concerns, and monetary recovery due to delays, supply chain disruptions, or change orders. We represent property owners, developers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in disputes, negotiations, and litigation. Our team also lays the legal groundwork necessary to get your project off the ground and move your project forward, such as securing permits and licenses, appearing before local governing bodies, and drafting and negotiating contracts. We protect your property rights and advocate for your business interests.
As your Aurora construction lawyer, we also provide tailored risk assessments at every stage of your project. We view the attorney-client relationship as a partnership, and our role is that of the supportive advisor. We get to know you well so we can provide guidance on appropriate insurance coverage, assess the validity of proposed deals, and identify potential legal risks before they become larger issues.
We represent clients in construction disputes as both plaintiffs and defendants. Our legal team develops the right approach whether you are initiating legal action or responding to one filed against your business. Disputes can create costly delays, so we work to resolve matters efficiently through negotiation or mediation whenever possible. We prepare for litigation in each case, though often this preparation helps us avoid court. However, if the other party refuses to compromise, we’re ready to go to trial.
We also assist with employment-related matters within the construction industry, including both direct employee and contractor and 1099 subcontractor relationships. Our team helps ensure you meet your obligations, such as maintaining proper insurance coverage like workers’ compensation, and avoid issues like worker misclassification that can lead to legal complications. Our thoughtful guidance helps your projects proceed smoothly.
Why Our Experience Matters in Construction Law Cases
