The first thing I would recommend to clients who call in who have received some type of enforcement letter or notice or threatening message from a state regulator or state authority of some sort would just be simply give us a call and begin saving your facts and timeline of what happened and what is being alleged against you.

Once we receive that information from you, we can then kind of analyze the situation and figure out exactly what the regulatory authorities are after. Often what we do as a law firm at that point is we advise you kind of of your options and what your exposure is, and then we’ll ultimately probably give a call to the authority who sent the letter and start to ask a few more questions and begin to develop that rapport with them and try to figure out what the path to resolution is.
