Risk Mitigation Counsel lawyer Colorado

Running a business means assuming risk: Financial, legal, and operational. Whether you started your enterprise as a passion project or as a larger partnership with other investors, you may have overlooked areas of exposure. Busy business owners like you have a lot on their plate; regularly reviewing your legal documents, contracts, and employment protocols and ensuring that your operations are compliant with state, federal, and industry regulations can take valuable time and attention away from what you do best: running your business. Our Colorado risk mitigation counsel lawyer steps into that role, reviewing your business operations and legal obligations (including employment laws) to reduce your risk of facing costly litigation or fines. Call Volpe Law LLC today to learn more.

Risk Mitigation Counsel Lawyer Colorado

Many business owners may concentrate so much on the daily operations of their business, growth analysis, advertising, and launching new products that they neglect areas that expose their enterprise to potential trouble. Perhaps you don’t realize that your operations or procedures violate a part of the EEOC requirements, or perhaps you didn’t realize that the state legislature has changed the statute covering non-compete agreements, and yours are now invalid.

Our risk mitigation services are designed to help shepherd your enterprise through various pitfalls, including employment law and regulatory compliance, that could jeopardize your long-term success and viability. We begin with an in-depth assessment of your entire operation, which includes reviewing your employee handbook, employment contracts, vendor agreements, reporting obligations, and insurance requirements. Once we’ve evaluated your current exposure, we break down the specific areas that need to be addressed and explain to you and your business partners the consequences of failure to address certain issues.

Colorado and federal laws are subject to change and may change irregularly. As a busy business owner/ operator, you may not realize how drastically certain changes affect your business operations. Non-compliance may result in fines from a governing agency or an increased risk of an employment lawsuit. Depending on the issue, you may face significant fines and legal fees or have your business operations disrupted.

Our Colorado risk mitigation counsel lawyer also looks to the future. We identify small concerns that could develop into larger disputes, such as differences in the vision and goals of your business partners or bills currently before the state’s legislature that may cause future issues. Then, we work with you and your partners to develop a plan, which may include renegotiating roles and responsibilities to reduce the risk of problems later.
