As lawyers, we’re trained in law school to spot issues before they turn into, you know, serious disputes. And as experienced litigators, we litigate cases. Were in court all the time dealing with issues that could have been stopped or uh resolved before a costly uh yearslong endeavor in court actually ever involved in the first place. you know, things like contracts, things like, you know, failure to write down what’s being negotiated into a contract or an agreement of any sort. Commonly, we see businesses in conducting handshake deals, verbal contracts, things like that. Even though those are enforceable, it causes us more trouble in court having to uh you know, cross-examine witnesses to figure out what was in the contract and what was agreed to. You know, some other risks are just compliance issues. Some businesses may not know that there are regulations that impact businesses in every state and in Colorado is no different and in some cases statutes that directly affect businesses such as consumer protection statutes. So, it’s good to have a lawyer to proactively look into these things and make sure that your business is following those regulations.
