Business Structure Lawyer Colorado
Do you have a great business idea? Transforming your dreams into reality starts with selecting the right operating structure. What form you choose (LLC, S-Corp, limited partnership) makes a difference in terms of growth potential, personal liability, profitability and profit-sharing, and tax obligations. Getting it right, right from the start, is critical. Our Colorado business structure lawyer reviews your ideas and business plan to evaluate which options are available to you (not every type of business structure may be suitable for your ideas and goals). Then, we discuss the pros and cons of each business structure with you and your partners so you have accurate information to make an informed decision.
Once you select your business structure, we can handle the rest: All you and your partners have to do is sign paperwork. Our attorneys draft and file all the necessary paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State and other regulatory agencies. We ensure that you submit all the necessary documentation to prevent errors or omissions that could cause delays in registering your business.
While the decision of what business structure your enterprise takes is ultimately yours, our years of experience in business matters mean that we’ve seen enough problems when entrepreneurs choose the wrong business structure to give you the right guidance for your enterprise.
We assist you with issues such as managing day-to-day business operations and determining the roles each investor and partner will play in the organization. Creating a structured, detailed partnership agreement can help avoid disagreements about responsibilities and profit-sharing and addresses how disputes will be handled.
The structure you choose also affects liability if a disgruntled customer or unhappy employee takes legal action against your business. An LLC, for example, shields the partners from personal liability in a civil action and protects your personal property from seizure by creditors. We can also provide you with industry-specific advice, inform you of any applicable regulations that you need to address before opening your doors, and assist you in securing all necessary operating licenses and permits.
